Founders Background and Their Roles at Novel Labs Inc.
- Shaahin Fazeli Panah
Role in Startup: Chief Executive Officer
Shaahin spearheads management and business development initiatives at Novel Labs, in addition to developing AI models and help team on designing innovative solutions.
Education: Shaahin is currently engaged in postdoctoral research focused on using AI to prevent counterfeit and substandard drugs within the pharmaceutical supply chain. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, a Professional degree in Data Science, an MS in Industrial Engineering, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills: Expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Microcontrollers, PLC, Ansys CFD, and SolidWorks.
Experience: With 19 years at the helm of Orviss Co., a high-tech firm engaged in national health and energy projects, Shaahin has been a part of the creative team responsible for several notable inventions including the Rotary Heat-Exchanger, SmartMat, and GeoVAC.
- Mohammad Karimi
Role in Startup: President and Product Manager
Mohammad is responsible for overseeing designing, quality assurance in production and services at Novel Labs.
Education: Master’s in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC machinery, 3D printing, Ansys CFD, ABAQUS, COMSOL, Pneumatics, and PLC.
Experience: Since 2007, Mohammad has led the engineering department at Orviss Co., directing numerous projects and leading the development of cutting-edge instruments. He has been pivotal in the creation of technologies such as GeoVAC and the Rotary Heat-Exchanger.
- Mohammad Karimi
Role in Startup: Member and Shareholder
Farshad supervises the development of health applications and manages regulatory affairs and client interactions within the health sector.
Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with a specialization in Orthodontics and Functional Appliances.
Technical Skills: Experienced in various laser therapies including Diode, Erbium-Chromium, and LLLT for Discopathy.
Experience: Practicing dentist and surgeon since 2004, Farshad has also been a biomedical consultant for Orviss since 2011, serving as the technical liaison with the health sector including Iran FDA.
- Leila Karimi
Role in Startup: Member and Shareholder
Leila is focused on developing AI-based applications that enhance operational efficiencies.
Education: Master’s in Software Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
Technical Skills: Specializes in Machine Learning, Python, Secure Software Programming, and C++.
Experience: Since joining Orviss Co. in 2011, Leila has excelled in developing intelligent software systems that support innovative equipment management and operations. Previously, she worked with the largest ISP in the Middle-East.
- Ali Krimi
Role in Startup: Member and Shareholder
Ali specializes in analyzing and simulating mechanical systems and parts using various engineering software.
Education: Bachelor’s in French Translation.
Technical Skills: Adept in ABAQUS, COMSOL, CATIA, and Agricultural Machinery.
Experience: Since 2008, Ali has played a crucial role at Orviss Co., focusing on the simulation and analysis of mechanical systems, transforming creative ideas into viable products. Before joining Orviss, Ali taught engineering software.
